剧情介绍
昭和29年の「ゴジラ」でスタートした東宝の怪獣映画シリーズは、「モスラ」や「妖星ゴラス」などの傑作を生み出し、また「大怪獣ガメラ」や「大巨獣ガッパ」など他社の怪獣ものにも影響を与え、海外にも多くのゴジラ・フリークを生み出した。しかしそのマンネリ化は防ぎようもなく、昭和40年代に入ったあたりから初期の頃のヒューマンな味わいが薄れ、怪獣同士の戦いがメインの子供向け作品に移行していく。この作品はそれまでの東宝怪獣キャラクターが勢ぞろいして怪獣島に管理され、平和な生活を送っているという状況で物語が始まる。そこに宇宙から凶悪怪獣キングギドラが飛来し、地球怪獣との死闘が……。Aliens have released all the giant monsters from their imprisonment on Monster Land and are using them to destroy all major cities on the planet. It is up to the daring crew of the super rocket ship X-2 to infiltrate the aliens' headquarters before the Earth monsters and King Ghidrah annihilate the planet.
