Plot Summary:The story of a coalminers' strike in northern France in the 1860s.
This mall screen adaptation of Emile Zola's famous novel will see Louis Peres leading the series as our late 19th century hero Etienne Lantier, a miner in love with a young woman courted by a brutal worker, who will push his comrades to strike when the mining company lowers wages.
