Plot Summary:The story is about a Chinese high school student Jinle, who tries to find a way out from the education system. His father is a bus driver who takes him to school every morning and brings him back every evening. Also, his essay teacher is a young lady, who asks him to follow the model essays every day. Nothing has changed until Jinle finds a collection of poetry from the essay teacher's drawer. First of all, I was always going to make a film about Chinese education, because I thought the education system is a process which makes every one to be the same. Moreover, I like poetry very much, and I think poetry can be something to challenge or break the regulations of the eduction system. However, when I started to write the script, I felt I shouldn't make this film just like an anti-Chinese government film. Maybe most western people like that, but I wanted to say something more than that. I think the education system is a dilemma for the students, but this kind of situation is everywhere. So this story is not only about a relationship between a student and the system, but also the relationship between everyone and his or her predicament. It is just like a road, or route. Everyone has a route, but nobody can get out of it. I hope I can make this film to make most people realise their predicament, and make them to be touched.
