废市:剧情介绍
Plot Summary:After reading a newspaper article about a town being destroyed in a fire, Eguchi begins to recall the summer he spent there writing his thesis. It's a beautiful canal town, the "Venice of Japan." As he arrives, he is greeted by the daughter of the Kaibara household, Yasuko. The rest of her family seems mysteriously absent. On his first night, Eguchi hears the stifled sound of crying. He attempts to find the source, and is soon drawn into the conflict that is tearing the family apart. While he likens the town to a dream, some of the inhabitants do not share his feelings. There is a sense of being stuck in time, with ruin and death the only future.
古い歴史を持った小さな運河の町が火事で焼けたというニュースに、江口は10数年前卒業論文執筆のため、この町を訪れた時のことを思い出す。泊まり込んでいた一軒の旧家、そこの美しい娘・安子、そしてその姉・郁代のことを……。オプチカル合成など、これまで技巧に走りがちだった大林宣彦が、シンプルに撮り上げた作品で、全編16ミリで撮影された。私的映画風味わいの深い低予算作品だが、画面や音への繊細な配慮は群を抜く。安子役・小林聡美は、その後の彼女の役柄とは反対に、正当派美少女を好演。
