Plot Summary:With access to both German and British archives, military historian Peter Barton re-examines one of the bloodiest battles of the First World War from both sides of No Man's Land.
Historian Peter Barton will tell the story of the battle that more than any other has come to define the WWI experience. Using unique access to unseen German military documents, he will present the battle from the point of view of the German regiments who lined up in the trenches opposite Haig’s much vaster army.
