Plot Summary:The lives of three lonely people are loosely intertwined in this Parisian tale. Adolescent Marguerite (Lolita Chammah) combats her isolation through spiritual questing and occasional talks with God. Childless housewife Claire (Isabelle Huppert) negotiates a number of unwelcome erotic encounters while trying to determine if she is barren. And dissolute Jacques (Frédéric Pierrot) endures his daughter's contempt by imagining himself as a private eye searching for a missing soul.
