Plot Summary:The world is a bleak desolate place where the people live in elevated cities. As the ground is uninhabitable, the citizens spend most of their lives wasting their time in virtual reality. Carver is a dream-breaker whose job is to enter the world of VR and fix what is wrong. And what is wrong is that his gal pal Dinah has been murdered in VR which should not be possible. But Carver soon finds that Dinah has constructed a transducer which allows people to enter VR without other equipment, but creates a rift. That rift causes people to enter VR, but also allows the creatures from the game to enter the real world.
21世纪末，地球已成为不可居住的废土世界，残存的人类龟缩在全封闭的城市里过着暗无天日的生活。为了逃避这难以忍受的现实，人们整天沉浸在虚拟现实游戏中打怪度日。一天，发生了离奇的案件，一款游戏的发明者Dinah在接入游戏系统时死亡。她的朋友Carver着手调查此事，发现Dinah制造了一种转接器，可以让人不借助任何设备就能进入虚拟现实游戏。始料未及的是，这一发明在虚幻和现实之间撕开了一道裂口，不仅人可以进入游戏，游戏中的怪物也能来到现实世界，游戏的天堂眼看就要变成人间的地狱……
