Plot Summary:The door has been closed for many weeks. A teenager has locked himself in - shutting out a helpless father, mother and sister. In Japan, youths like him have already been given a name: Hikikomori (the secluded). The phenomenon is also beginning to spread throughout the Western world. This is all the family has been able to find out. All they can do is stand in front of the locked door and ask, beg, implore, throw tantrums, despair, accuse, ignore and hope. All the while, the door increasingly becomes a mirror of their own lives.
门已经关了好几个星期了。少年迈克把自己关在里面，把无助的父亲、母亲和姐姐拒之门外。迈克并没有生病，只是下定决心不想再涉足外面的世界了。在日本，人们把这样的年轻人称为“蛰居族”。这样的行为在西方国家也逐渐蔓延开来。他的家人只能每天站在紧闭的门前等待、询问、发火、绝望、指责、无视和期待，别无他法。
