Plot Summary:Academy Award-winning actor Alan Arkin joins Robert Osborne at the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival. Their hour-long discussion covers Arkin's varied life and career, from his childhood ambitions to his days in a Caribbean folk trio, his time with Chicago's Second City improv comedy troupe, his successes on Broadway as an actor and director, and his long Hollywood film career, from his Oscar-nominated debut in THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING (1966) to his Oscar-nominated performance in ARGO (2012), highlighted by his Oscar win for LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006). Arkin explains his preference for film acting over the monotony of stage acting and shares his philosophies on his profession.
