Plot Summary:A little girl loves her dog,Pierrot,dearly :we see them playing together for the last time before they leave for the seaside ,on the fifteenth of August.En route ,they drive through a forest .Father takes the dog out of the car ,removes his collar,he becomes a stray dog ;the impassive parents ,deaf to their daughter's plea ,take her away . A stray dog cannot believe he's been deserted for good;he returns to his house where he finds nobody home.As Prévert ironically points out ,stray dogs always search for human protection ;when they catch him ,he puts up no resistance to them :it's the dog pound ,and probably death.
