Plot Summary:Major Edward Beck and his troops, sent by the Western states' Cheyenne-based president, impose pacification with Phil Constantino's New Bern men. Longing to revenge his dad and many others, even Jake is against, yet Beck offers him the post of sheriff. Arriving CIA agent Chavez teams up with old mate Hawkins to make sure proof that the nuclear war was domestically, not overseas-plotted, isn't eliminated.
