Plot Summary:"When Worlds Collide" chronicles the rise and fall of Spain's global empire from the reign of Isabel and Ferdinand through the reign of Philip II. This 90-minute documentary explores how the collision of the Old World and the New World completely transformed the nature of ethnicity and identity in the Americas.
In 1492, two worlds that for thousands of years had developed completely independent of one another suddenly came into contact. In the following decades, those two worlds painfully and haltingly began to merge. A story that examines power, religion, wealth, and the nature of identity and ethnicity in the Americas right up to our own times.
