Plot Summary:A 16 years old school girl, Shuming Xiao married to Mosuo minority's bandit chieftain La Baocheng in 1943. She had to leave her hometown - Chengdu, moved from a modern city to Lugu lake where the matrilineal society and the \"Axia visiting marriage'' system still exist. Lugu Lake is about 1000 miles far from Chengdu in remote mountain area. There are no lawfully registered marriage system or patriarchy clan relatives around the Lugu Lake, and Xiao lived here for about 54 years. During this long period, she never came back hometown.
《三节草》讲述的是一个叫肖淑明的老人一生传奇的故事。肖淑明还在少女时代时，被摩梭人土司喇宝成看中，带回泸沽湖成为他的压寨夫人，这一去就是54年。1996年，她终于有机会又回到了阔别已久的故乡，当她看到繁华的城市时，肖淑明百感交集，她已经不可能再重新融入到这个城市中，但她却萌生了一个强烈的念头，就是一定要把自己的孙女拉珠送回到成都去。全片分为两条线，一条是肖淑明讲述自己早年的经历以及生活感受，另一条是肖淑明努力将孙女拉珠送往成都的全过程。
